Meet Our Team

Heather Pearce-Shew, MSN, CRNA, FNP-BC

Heather was born & raised in Greenville, NC & so it was natural for East Carolina University to become her home for both undergraduate & graduate education. She also

holds a post-graduate certificate from University of Cincinnati, making Heather a double-board certified Nurse Anesthesiologist & Family Nurse Practitioner.

Heather is passionate about integrating conventional medicine with complimentary & holistic approaches in order to help each individual heal & thrive.

She loves learning new ways of approaching wellness & is always researching something new. Heather believes in patient-centered care that focuses on respectful & individually-tailored treatments guided by each patient's needs, preferences, & values. She doesn't shy away from the difficult things, & will always try to find an intervention for our patients when nothing else has helped. Heather founded Infuse Wellness in 2018 to provide an unconventional treatment for those who struggle with severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, & difficult chronic pain; Infuse has continued to grow from there. Thinking outside-the-box is what we do here, & proud of it.

After living in the NC mountains for almost 15 years, Heather & her retired-Army husband, Dan, headed back down to the coast.

Together they enjoy playing music or getting out on their motorcycles. Heather also loves reading, baking, & all animals great & small!

Allison McCarson, DNP, CNM, MSCP

Nancy Murdock, DNP, FNP-BC, CNS, CDP

Allison McCarson is a North Carolina native, originally from the town of Kernersville. She graduated with her BSN from East Carolina University. After serving in the United States Army Nurse Corps, Allison completed her MSN with a degree in Nurse Midwifery from State University of New York- Stony Brook. She continued to serve active duty military and family members as a certified nurse midwife, moving around the world as she and her family supported her husband’s military career. During these travels, Allison completed her Doctorate degree at the University of South Alabama, concentrating in evidence based medicine and translational research. She has continued to provide evidence-based women’s health care for over 2 decades, now establishing herself here on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.

Allison has pursued a passion for all aspects of women’s health across the lifespan. Her concentration in recent years has been on hormone balance and caring for women during the perimenopause and menopause transition. She is a member of The Menopause Society and is one of few Menopause Society Certified Practitioners (MSCP) in Eastern North Carolina. Allison is a Certified Evexias trained clinician, trained in hormone therapy and integrated functional medicine.

Allison is married to Michael and they have two children, Mikaela and Matthew, each pursuing their own dreams in medicine and the military. The McCarsons have retired from military life and are permanent beach people. You can find them walking the shores of Emerald Isle, boating the intracoastal, and supporting the local small businesses on our gem of an island.

Our Practitioners

Nancy Murdock is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, both earned from East Carolina University. She started her career in healthcare at the University of Virginia where she completed both undergraduate & graduate training, specializing in cardiology as an Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. She treats patients at both Infuse Wellness locations, in Emerald Isle and Wilson. She also works full-time as a Clinical Professor at UNC-Wilmington, teaching nurse practitioner students and volunteering as a mentor for future FNPs. She also provides quality primary care to correctional residents.

After over 30 years of caring for patients across the lifespan, Nancy has shifted her focus toward health promotion and health maintenance. Her goal is to collaborate with patients to improve their overall health. She believes that maintaining healthy nutrition and hormone balance are an essential component of well-being. Her broad background in many areas gives Nancy experience that serves her patients well, from intensive care, acute care transport, labor & delivery, mother-baby, and neonatal ICU. Nancy loves nothing more than to have a positive impact in other people's lives!

Nancy grew up in a military family and has three grown sons. She is strong

in her faith and feels blessed to have a wonderful family, great friends, and many

fur-babies! During her time-off you can typically find her outside; if she's here, she's probably saltwater fishing! If she's in the mountains she'll be outside hiking and enjoying God's beautiful creation.
